Commissioned Build, Customer has a very large office and needed a planter that would divide the space as well as be stylish and decorative.
I was given rough dimensions but the design was left open. The planter was going to be for artificial plants. I started with a sketch as normal. The construction is a standard hollow box carcass built from 1/2″ primed plywood. A 1/2″ shelf was mounted 16″ from the top of the planter to serve as the base for the plants. The carcass was trimmed in a traditional style with ripped 1x material and purchased wood trim.
